Publication Ethics
The Law Journal of the National Academy of Internal Affairs adheres to international standards of publication ethics and follows the recommendations of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) as well as Elsevier’s Publishing Ethics Resource Kit (PERK). The Editorial Board operates on the principles of academic integrity, transparency, and editorial independence.
Research Ethics
Any study involving human participants must receive approval from the appropriate institutional ethics committee. Authors are required to confirm voluntary participation, informed consent, protection of anonymity, and confidentiality of respondents. Research should comply with international standards, including the American Sociological Association Code of Ethics (1997), the ICC/ESOMAR International Code (2025), and the European Commission Guidance on Ethics and Data Protection (2021).
Confidentiality
All submitted manuscripts are treated as confidential documents. Information concerning authors, content, or review status is not disclosed to third parties, except to those directly involved in the editorial and peer review process.
Authors’ Responsibilities
Authors must ensure the originality, accuracy, and novelty of their research. Manuscripts should be unpublished and not under consideration elsewhere. Proper citation and referencing of all sources is mandatory. Authors are obliged to notify the editorial office of any significant errors discovered after publication and cooperate in issuing corrections or retractions.
Decision-Making
Editorial decisions are based solely on the academic value of the research and the reviewers’ assessments. Manuscripts are evaluated without regard to authors’ gender, nationality, religion, political beliefs, or other personal characteristics. Editors must address all ethical concerns appropriately, and unpublished data may not be used without the author’s explicit consent.
Reviewers’ Responsibilities
Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, and reasoned evaluations, maintain confidentiality, and refrain from using unpublished data for personal purposes. Any conflicts of interest must be disclosed to the Editorial Board.
Editorial Board Responsibilities
Members of the Editorial Board are expected to respect authors, maintain editorial confidentiality, coordinate revisions with authors, and prevent the publication of plagiarised or scientifically insignificant material.
Funding Disclosure
All sources of financial support must be declared. If no funding was received, the article should include the statement: “This research received no external funding.”
Artificial Intelligence Policy
Generative AI tools cannot be considered authors or co-authors. Their use is limited to improving language and style and must be explicitly declared. AI-generated images, figures, or tables are not permitted unless they are part of the research methodology, in which case their use must be thoroughly documented.
Post-Publication Discussions
The journal supports open scholarly debate via PubPeer, where all articles are indexed with DOI. Any valid concerns raised will be investigated in line with the journal’s correction and retraction policy.
Advertising Policy
The journal does not accept any form of advertising, ensuring editorial independence and adherence to the highest academic standards.
Data Sharing Policy
Data underlying published results may be shared upon formal request through the editorial office and only with the authors’ consent, taking into account ethical and legal restrictions.
