The urgency of the scientific article is due to the fact that the non-regulation of the Ukrainian legislation in the field of public procurement, mainly paperwork and the lack of transparent and fair tender procedures lead to inefficient use of public funds and the spread of corruption. As a result, the level of security of the army decreases, poor equipment and weapons are purchased, which endangers the security of military and ordinary citizens. The negative consequences of this phenomenon not only impede the progressive, progressive development of society, but also pose a serious threat to the national security interests of the country. The purpose of article is to provide an understanding of corruption risks in public defense procurement and to identify possible ways to minimize corruption in the defense sector, based on an analysis of scientific and theoretical views of scientists, research findings of international organizations in the field of preventing and combating corruption. The methodological basis. The methodological basis of scientific is a holistic and coherent system of methods, methods and methods of scientific knowledge that has enabled to properly analyze the subject of research. The scientific novelty of the results obtained results is that the scientific article is a successful attempt to comprehensively investigate the establishment and understanding of corruption risks in public defense procurement and the likely ways of minimization. Summarizing the above, it should be concluded that the list of ways of minimization will also increase the efficiency of the implementation of state policy in the field of national security, improve the quality of management of resources aimed at ensuring national security, ensure transparency of public defense procurement and reduce the level of corruption in the defense sphere. The changes will create favorable conditions for providing Ukraine’s military units with the necessary modern armaments and military equipment, development of the defense-industrial complex, expansion of military-technical cooperation and attraction of foreign investments in Ukraine.
