The purpose of the research: to describe some features of the search for missing drivers of motor vehicles engaged in intercity and international truckage. In accordance with the stated goal, the following tasks are determined: to describe the state of safety on the roads of intercity communication in Ukraine; to outline the problems that arise when receiving a statement (notice) on the missing of a trucker and during the conduct of the priority search activities; to determine factors by which the connection with the trucker may be lost when the truck moves on an intercity or international route; to find out features of the interaction of the bodies of the National Police of Ukraine during the conduct of the priority search activities; to characterize situations connected with the commission of a crime against a trucker; to analyze capabilities of the Interpol National Central Bureau; to suggest ways for the optimization of the work in this direction; to give examples of practical work by the authors of the article related to the search of persons. The article describes the state of the development of transport infrastructure on intercity routes in Ukraine and its influence on ensuring the safety of drivers. The problems, which arise when receiving the statement (notice) about the location of the trucker conducting intercity (international) truckage and features of carrying out the priority search activities are outlined. Attention is drawn to the fact that the search for persons of this category must be carried out concurrently in two directions: the search for a trucker and the search for a vehicle. The situation when several persons suspected of committing a crime against the missing person were taken to the police station is considered. Ways of the optimization of this activity are offered. The focus is on the possibility of using the capabilities of the Interpol Bureau in the interests of the search. The methodological basis of the article is a dialectical approach to the analysis of situations regarding the receipt of a statement (notice) on the missing of a trucker. Methods of formal logic are used in this work: the analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, analogy, abstraction, as well as statistical, system and structural and prognostic methods. The scientific novelty of the work is the current issues of the search for missing truckers involved in intercity (international) truckage have been described for the first time in recent years in Ukraine. Conclusions contain suggestions on the optimization of the activity in the following direction: improvement of the legislation, equipping motor roads with cameras of video surveillance and convenient spots, strengthening the struggle against prostitution on highways.
