The article is devoted to complex study of origin, formation and development of comparative research in various social and human sciences in order to identify the extent of perception, adaptation and to discover their methodological potential in legal psychology. The main content comprises analysis of the comparative aspect in the field of philosophy, cultural studies, ethnology, anthropology, linguistics, literature and many others. On the basis of the performed analysis, the author suggests his interpretation of the comparative aspect of science, outlines its adaptation and implementation for comprehension of the basics of legal psychology. The author concludes that comprehension of substantive and methodological achievements of social and human sciences within the comparative approach to the studies of specific features of legal psychology will allow for expanding its subject matter field and improving its methodology. Furthermore, it will facilitate the integration of legal psychology with other sciences and its development as independent legal science.
